This workshop approaches the photobook as a medium of artistic expression in its own right, where decisions about sequence, pacing, editing, proportion and materiality are understood as creative and conceptual acts.

Working from their own body of work, participants move toward an editorial direction, a first dummy, and initial production ideas. The process is discursive and open-ended: expect peer exchange, productive feedback, and room to experiment – whether your approach is intuitive or analytical.

Anni Seligmann is a designer and partner at Studio Mut. After studying Communication Design in Germany, she relocated to New York City to work for clients such as OMA, Lincoln Center Theater, and Brooklyn Public Library. She joined Studio Mut in 2019 and has since been essential in shaping projects for Museion, Phaidon Press, and Louis Vuitton. She teached Visual Communication at the University of Bolzano and gives design talks, from Barcelona to Paris.
