ANALOGICA is celebrating its thirteenth edition and returns to the spaces of Waag and FotoForum in Bolzano for a new event dedicated to experimental cinema and family film archives. It is precisely the family archives in Super 8 format that help recover a story of love and resistance that would otherwise have been lost. And speaking of 16mm, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, it is the format we have chosen for the new Analogica workshop, curated by Ieva Balode, a filmmaker and representative of the independent Baltic Analog Lab, to whom we dedicate a special screening.

A journey through photography, from iconic images to times and apertures, to framing and composition, we will gain a conscious gaze towards images through examples and exercises.
We will combine images and words and through a tri-dimensional collage we will create small rooms of wonder. Starting from tiny boxes we will mix poetry and image, past and present with ancient words and renewed images.
Cyanotype print brings images to life thanks to the light and ferric salts. By using flowers, leaves, feathers, and negatives we will create postcards, bookmarks that will become an herbarium of poetic blue memories.
