Finissage: Durchgangsland-Terradipassaggio – Guided tour with Stefano Riba

Durchgangsland–Terradipassaggio is the solo exhibition of artist Francesca Cirilli, concluding a three-part residency curated by Stefano Riba and organized by Foto Forum in Fortezza throughout 2024. The project explores the 15 km stretch of the SS12 road between Fortezza and Mules, a dense corridor of historical, geological, and social layers shaped by major infrastructural works and foreign labor. Cirilli’s photographs and Riba’s accompanying text (published in a self-produced book presented at the show) weave together traces from ancient to contemporary times: Roman relics, tectonic fault lines, historical borders, modern tunnels, fortresses, railways, lakes, and highways.

On April 26th, 2025, the exhibition will close with a special guided tour led by curator Stefano Riba, offering deeper insights into the layered stories behind Francesca Cirilli’s works and the complex territory they depict.
